 AEBP1 contains a region that is 40% identical to regulatory carboxypeptidases (CPs) CPH/E (GEM:04^/CPE), CPN/B2 (GEM:13q1411/CPB2), and CPM (GEM:12q15/CPM). The CP activity is important for the transcriptional repression activity of AEBP1 and suggested that AEBP1 regulates transcription by cleavage of factors involved in transcription (He-1995)."
