 [1] In the original report of Nef-1988, this subunit is designated as , since, in contrast to A1-A4, it does not contain a pair of adjacent cysteine residues. However, its amino acid sequence in total is similar to those for other CHRN alpha-peptides.
[2] These data are obtained for the chicken genome, however it was previously shown that the rat genome also contains corresponding genes (these genes seem to exist in all vertebrate genomes, by virtue of their pronounced conservativity); see also GEM:02q32/CHRNA1."
