Gene: [02q23/GCG] glucagon; hyperproglucagonemia (glucagon);

HIS

MIM-88 included three glucagon markers: two glucagon types (normal and high molecular ones) and a hyperproduction of the high molecular type. They were described under the numbers 13803, 13805, and 14527, respectively. In the MIM-90, one of the markers (13805) was exluded, and hyperproglucagonemia is considered as a secondary marker that depends on glucagon."

FAG

[1] Glucagon receptor is mapped to Chr 17 (GEM:17q25/GCGR).
[2] Glucagon-like peptide 1 (GLP1) is a hormone derived from the preproglucagon molecule and is secreted by intestinal L cells. GLP1 receptor is mapped to Chr 6 (GEM:06p21/GLP1R)."
