C4B deficit is sometimes referred to as the electrophoretic variant of BQO. In the report of Rudduck-1985, on the basis of Swedish data, it has been shown that the BQO variant is significantly more frequent in schizophrenia patients than in the common population (for BQO carriers the risk of SCH expression is 7-fold greater than for carriers of other polymorphic C4B variants)." |
