Analysis of radioautographic signals after in situ hybridization of the DNA probe for fibronectin gene (GEM:02q34/FN1) succeeded to reveal this locus in meioyic but not mitotic chromosomes (Jhanwar-1985). It is probably for this reason that the HGM catalogues do not include this gene in the list of mapped ones. The MIM catalogue registered it as a secondary marker; the data (Smith-1979/82) on the fibronectin expression in somatic hybrid cells being dependent on the presence of chr 11 probably served as an additional argument in support of this." |
