The ApoB editing protein is a cytidine deaminase showing structural homology to other known mammalian and bacteriophage deoxycytidylate deaminases. Expression of the cDNA in HepG2 cells resulted in editing of the intracellular apoB mRNA (GEM:02p2/APOB). The editing protein undergoes spontaneous polymerization and exists as a dimer (Lau-1994)."
