The gene BABL has been excluded from the GDB. The MIM registered it as LIPO (lipomatosis, multiple). It is mapped by cytogenetic methods, on the basis of pathology manifestation in carriers of translocations involving segments q13-14 of Chr 12."

[1] According to Heim-1988 and Mandahl-1988, multiple lipomatosis represents a heterogeneous group of benign adipose tissue tumors and includes at least three clinical cytogenetic variants.
[2] The locus for myxoid liposarcoma is identified: GEM:12q13/DDIT3."
