COM | At first LGALS3 gene was mapped to Chr 1p13 by in situ hybridization (Raz-1991). Later, conflicting mapping results were obtained: the LGALS3 gene was mapped to Chr 14q21-q22 by fluorescence in situ hybridization with confirmation by isotopic hybridization with a tritium-labeled probe (Raimond-1997). No secondary peak of hybridization was observed by either method on the short arm of Chr 1 where the gene had been tentatively assigned by Raz-1991. Presumably, the Chr 14 location is the true one." |
