Gene: [21q21/PRKM10] protein kinase, mitogen-activated 10 (MAP kinase); stress-activated protein kinase 3; c-jun N-terminal kinase 3, alpha 1 and 2;

COM

By analysis of somatic cell hybrids and fluorescence in situ hybridization, the JNK3 gene was mapped to 21q21 (Mohit-1995)."

MOP

The 2 JNK3 isoforms, called JNK3-alpha-1 and JNK3-alpha-2, have different C termini. By SDS-PAGE of in vitro transcription/translation products, Gupta-1996 determined that JNK3-alpha-1 migrates as a 45-to-48-kD doublet and JNK3-alpha-2 migrates as a 54-to-57-kD doublet. JNK3 contains an extended N-terminal region not found in JNK1 (GEM:10^/PRKM8) or JNK2 (GEM:05q35/PRKM9) (Gupta-1996)."
