SUM	Forster-1987 and Huck-1988 subdivided phylogenetically related VAR minigenes of T cell receptor Ti-gamma subunit into the following groups: group I, genes (and pseudogenes) 1-8; group II, psi-A and V9; group III, V10 and psi-B; group IV, only one gene V11. This subdivision was made by analogy with the subdivision of multiple VAR minigenes of H- and L-kappa immunoglobulin subunits into homology groups (I-IV and more) (see FAM:IGHV/14q3233 and FAM:IGKV/02p12). Within the groups, individual copies of V genes are located almost precisely 5 kb from one another; 12 of the 14 copies (except for V9 and V11) contain a KpnI site."
