METALLOTHIONEIN 1H; MT1H

Alternative titles; symbols

METALLOTHIONEIN IH

HGNC Approved Gene Symbol: MT1H

Cytogenetic location: 16q13     Genomic coordinates (GRCh38): 16:56,669,814-56,671,129 (from NCBI)

TEXT

Cloning and Expression

Stennard et al. (1994) determined that the MT1H gene encodes a 61-amino acid protein that conforms to the metallothionein consensus distribution of 20 cysteine residues.

Gene Structure

Stennard et al. (1994) showed that the MT1H gene comprises 3 exons.

Mapping

Karin et al. (1984), West et al. (1990), and others have mapped the locus containing the MT1 gene family to chromosome 16q13.
