HGNC Approved Gene Symbol: TRT-TGT3-1
Cytogenetic location: 14q11.2 Genomic coordinates (GRCh38): 14:20,613,790-20,613,862 (from NCBI)
Chang et al. (1986) isolated and sequenced a cluster of 4 tRNA genes arranged as 2 tandem pairs: proline tRNA(AGG) (TRP1; 189930) and leucine tRNA(AAG) (TRL1; 189932), followed by a second proline tRNA(AGG) (TRP2; 189931) and threonine tRNA(UGU) (TRT2).
Chang et al. (1986) determined that the TRP2 gene is 316 bp from the TRT2 gene. Mitchell et al. (1991) mapped the gene cluster containing TRT2 to chromosome 14q11 near the TCRA gene (see 186880).
