TEXT

Mapping

Rousseau-Merck et al. (1991) mapped the zinc finger Kruppel gene ZNF29 (KOX26) to 17p13-p12 by somatic cell hybrid analysis and in situ chromosomal hybridization. Since ZFP3 (194480) is also on 17p, it is likely that there is a zinc finger gene complex located on that chromosome arm. In the homologous murine region, the distal region of mouse chromosome 11, 2 zinc finger genes, Zfp2 and Zfp3, are located (Nadeau et al., 1990). ZNF29 maps centromeric to the human p53 gene (191170), and the mouse zinc finger genes show an analogous relationship to the murine p53 gene locus.
