Cytogenetic location: 11q23.1-q23.2 Genomic coordinates (GRCh38): 11:110,600,001-114,600,000
Using a degenerate oligonucleotide corresponding to the histidine/cysteine link consensus sequence of the Drosophila Kruppel zinc finger gene, Saleh et al. (1992) isolated the ZNF125 gene from an arrayed chromosome 11q cosmid library. Northern blot analysis detected expression of ZNF125 as multiple transcripts of 8.1, 5.9, and 3.8 kb in all human tissues examined with the exception of pancreas.
Using fluorescence in situ suppression hybridization (FISSH), Saleh et al. (1992) mapped the ZNF125 gene to chromosome 11q23.1-q23.2, near the ZNF123 gene (194630).
