▼ Cloning and Expression

Using a degenerate oligonucleotide corresponding to the histidine/cysteine link consensus sequence of the Drosophila Kruppel zinc finger gene, Saleh et al. (1992) isolated the ZNF126 gene from an arrayed chromosome 11q cosmid library. Northern blot analysis detected expression of ZNF126 as several transcripts of varying sizes in human placenta (4.3 and 2.0 kb) and as a single transcript in skeletal muscle (5.5 kb) and pancreas (4.3 kb).

Using fluorescence in situ suppression hybridization (FISSH), Saleh et al. (1992) mapped the ZNF126 gene to chromosome 11q13.3-q13.4.
