HGNC Approved Gene Symbol: ATF6B
Cytogenetic location: 6p21.32 Genomic coordinates (GRCh38): 6:32,115,264-32,128,246 (from NCBI)
Min et al. (1995) isolated a cDNA from a tonsil library. The cDNA encodes a 700-amino acid predicted protein with a basic region and a leucine zipper, similar to other members of the CREB/ATF family of transcription factors. The authors designated the protein CREBRP.
Min et al. (1995) found that the ATF6B gene maps to a YAC spanning the region of chromosome 6p21.3 from HLA-DRA (142860) to CYP21 (613815). The gene is about 6 to 10 kb centromeric of TNXB.
