Buckland et al. (1996) isolated 2 genomic clones containing an alanine tRNA (UGC) gene as well as genes for a methionine tRNA (180621) and an arginine tRNA (601432). They mapped this gene cluster to chromosome 6 by analysis of somatic cell hybrids and to 6p22.3-p21.1 by in situ hybridization.
