Gene: [19p133/AMH] anti-Mullerian hormone (mullerian inhibiting factor); persistent Mullerian duct syndrome, type I (pseudohermaphroditism, male internal; MIM:261550);

GEN

The gene length is no more than 3 kb. Exons: 5.

PRO

Cohen-Haguenauer-1987 mentioned AMH probe, which was used for localization of this gene, however they did not describe its characteristics."

MOP

The peptide product of AMH gene has MM 65 kD (mRNA is 2.1 kb); posttranslational glycosilation increases its MM to 72 kD. The mature anti-Mullerian hormone is a homodimer. It is produced by testicle Sertoli's cells, mainly at prenatal period and to a less extent, during postnatal life and in adults."

FAG

[1] Anti-Mullerian hormone receptor is mapped to Chr 12q13 (GEM:12q13/AMHR2).
[2] One of AMH-related markers, beta 1 transforming growth factor gene, is mapped to Chr 19q131 (GEM:19q131/TGFB1)."
